Anquet Maps join forces with The Ramblers' Association

Anquet Technology Ltd is delighted to announce that they have joined forces with the Ramblers’ Association to promote the use of digital mapping among the Association’s 140,000 members.

Anquet Maps are used within the Ramblers in support of their wide ranging work as the leading charity for walkers in Great Britain. Now the two organisations have joined forces to promote the benefits of digital mapping to members of the Ramblers' Association who are among the country's keenest walkers.

The Ramblers’ Association is Britain's biggest walking charity; they have been working for 70 years to promote walking and to improve conditions for everyone who walks in England, Scotland and Wales.

The Ramblers and Anquet will be found working together wherever you see this logo.

Langholm Walking Festival 6-8 June 2008

This will be our 7th annual Walking Festival.  There is a selection of 13 guided walks over the weekend which will explore the beautiful countryside of Langholm and Eskdale in the South of Scotland.  The area is characterised by beautiful river valleys between green, rounded hills.  The hills rise to 500 metres (1600 feet) many of them commanding magnificent views.

The Festival walks range in length from 4 – 10 miles and vary in degree of difficulty from easy to strenuous plus.  The valleys of the Rivers, Esk, Ewes and Wauchope and Tarras Waters are extensively explored and contain many lovely corners that can only be reached on foot.  The walks also take in interesting historical sites and a variety of woodland.  Some of the walks cover the beautiful SSSI moorland area and Tarras Valley.  All walks are led by experienced leaders who will explain as much as possible about the history, wildlife etc of the area as you walk.

A NEW CHALLENGE FOR 2008 – Langholm’s Five Hills – a serious challenge!

There is evening entertainment on the Friday and Saturday and our renowned delicious home made teas follow the walks.  Come and enjoy a friendly welcome in Scotland’s beautiful ‘Muckle Toon’.
