This first Newsletter (and hopefully the first of many) is due to the fact that the committee felt that there were various matters that needed to be brought to the attention of the members and that the easiest way to do this would be to write to everyone in the form of a newsletter. And so it has come to pass that 'Cunninghame Ramblings' has been produced. This time it is only one page and one sided, but future 'Ranblings' may grow !!
Coach Trips
The coach trip to the Isle of Whithorn: On the day of the walk we were sailing close to the wind both physically and metaphorically. This was a new area to the group and as a result required to be reccied on numerous occasions. We also encountered serious access problems.
What became very clear on that particular trip was that the situation might arise where, due to adverse weather etc., it could become necessary to cancel the advertised walks. Members safety must always be paramount.
Hopefully this situation will not arise but it is something to keep in mind for the future.
Social Night
A social night for the members has been organised. Venue Saltcoats Indoor Bowling Alley. 7 pm Monday 28th June

Hanging up his Walking Boots
Andy Eadie has decided that the time has come for him to hang up his walking boots. Andy has very kindly offered as his retiral present to sponsor for a coach trip. Having discussed this very generous offer with Andy this is the proposed plan of action.
The first event on the next programme Saturday 2nd October will be a coach trip to Callander. There will be 3 walks B+, B and C all ending in Callander after which anyone who wishes may join Andy for a High Tea at The Old bank The coach will be free, but not the High Tea (£10 payable to Christine on the bus). Get your name to Christine a.s.a.p.
Leaders Meeting
At the next Leaders Meeting on the 16th August. Graham Wilson will bring along some digital images (slideshow) for your edification. So even if you don't wish to lead a walk please come along. You will also get a cup of tea or coffee.
20 Years Old
Cunninghame Ramblers will be 20 years old in October and it is hoped that we will celebrate this with a month of events. Andy's Coach Trip; re-enacting the first walk; a stall to bring our activities to the public's notice; repair a style / path in the Cunninghame area. All offers of help will be gratefully accepted.
