Aims and Activities of the Ramblers Association

The Ramblers Association exists to protect the interests of everyone who enjoys walking in the countryside.  Since 1935, it has promoted rambling, protected footpaths, sought access to open country, encouraged respect for the countryside, and defended its natural beauty.

Local groups of the Ramblers Association organise programmes of walks.  Additionally, the group watches over their local countryside, monitoring the state of footpaths, and campaigning for more access to the open countryside.
